Toronto possible starting lineup:
Gavran; Thompson, Rosted, Petretta, Laryea; Coello, Mihailovic, Cifuentes; Corbeanu, Osorio, Etienne
Inter Miami possible starting lineup:
Ustari; Fray, Allen, Picart, Alba; De Paul, Busquets; Allende, Messi, Rodriguez; Suarez
Fraser’s defensive options have been severely depleted, with Kevin Long (leg) joining long-term absentees Henry Wingo (thigh), Zane Monlouis (hip), and Nickseon Gomis (Achilles) on the injury list.
Up front, Toronto will be without Deandre Kerr, though there is positive news as Jonathan Osorio and Djordje Mihailovic are available – the pair have combined for three goal contributions across their last three outings.
On the other side, Mascherano will be pleased to have Telasco Segovia back from suspension, and he could slot straight back into midfield. Fabrice Picault has also recovered from a quad strain, though he was an unused substitute in Inter Miami’s 4-0 victory over New York City FC in midweek. However, David Ruiz and Allen Obando remain out with hamstring issues.
Inter Miami’s biggest threat is, of course, Lionel Messi, who continued his incredible form with a brace last time out, taking his tally to 24 goals in 23 games and moving top of the MLS scoring charts. The Argentine captain became the first player in league history to record 35+ goal contributions in consecutive seasons and has now scored two or more goals in eight of his last twelve matches. With five games remaining, Messi looks poised to break even more records before the campaign ends.
