AIFF Super Cup: Bengaluru FC ready for Mohammedan SC challenge; Kerala Blasters open campaign against Rajasthan United

Earlier in the day, Kerala Blasters FC will kick off their 2025–26 Super Cup campaign against Rajasthan United FC at the GMC Stadium, Bambolim, marking the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

Rajasthan, who finished in the top half of the I-League last season, have reinstated Vikrant Sharma as head coach — the man who guided them to promotion earlier in their journey. The club will now hope Sharma can orchestrate another fairytale run, this time in Goa.

The Blasters, meanwhile, are looking to turn the page after a difficult period following the departure of former head coach Ivan Vukomanovic. New manager David Catala faces the task of restoring belief and stability as the Kochi-based side eyes a maiden trophy.

Kerala’s summer rebuild saw the arrival of four new foreign signingsDusan Lagator, Juan Rodriguez, Tiago Alves, and Koldo Obieta — who are expected to link up with Noah Sadaoui and skipper Adrian Luna to form a dynamic attacking core.

“In this short competition, the main goal is to secure all three points from the very start,” said captain Adrian Luna ahead of the match. “We have to adapt to the pitch and weather conditions, but our aim is to play good, attacking football.

Regardless of who’s called the favourite, it’s 11 against 11 — we need to show strong personality, belief, and a winning mentality to start the season as strongly as possible.”
