After a challenging Champions League debut on Tuesday night, Eberechi Eze could be dropped to the bench this weekend if Mikel Arteta is unable to slot the Crystal Palace legend into a midfield role.
Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard – both of whom registered two goal contributions in midweek at San Mamés – are vying for a place on the left flank as Arsenal prepare for a crucial clash in the Premier League title race.
On the opposite wing, Bukayo Saka remains sidelined with injury, handing Noni Madueke another chance to build on his bright start to the season. Captain Martin Ødegaard is a doubt due to a recurring shoulder issue, while Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz remain long-term absentees with knee injuries.
Manchester City, meanwhile, could be boosted by the return of John Stones, who has recovered from a muscular problem. Pep Guardiola continues to lean on Erling Haaland and Phil Foden to provide the goals, with summer signings Rayan Cherki (muscle) and Omar Marmoush (knee) still in the treatment room.
Rayan Aït-Nouri is also unavailable, so young Nico O’Reilly is expected to keep his place on the left side of City’s defence.
