Team News: Northern Ireland vs Germany
Northern Ireland will be forced to cope without captain Conor Bradley for their crucial clash against Germany, as the Liverpool full-back serves a one-match suspension. Bradley, widely regarded as the standout performer in the recent draw with Slovakia, picked up a second-half booking that triggers a ban.
His absence on the right flank opens the door for Brodie Spencer of Oxford United to return to the starting lineup. Spencer missed the reverse fixture last month due to injury but is now in line to deputise. Otherwise, manager Michael O’Neill is expected to stick with an unchanged XI. With first-choice goalkeeper Pierce Charles still recovering from a shoulder injury, Bailey Peacock-Farrell will once again start between the posts in the familiar 3-4-2-1 system.
As for Germany, several key players remain sidelined. Kai Havertz (knee), Jamal Musiala (ankle), Antonio Rüdiger (hamstring) and Marc-André ter Stegen (back) are all unavailable, while Niclas Füllkrug is also missing due to a calf issue. That leaves Nick Woltemade as the frontrunner to lead the attack, supported by the in-form Serge Gnabry — who scored in the reverse fixture — and Florian Wirtz of Liverpool.
There are also defensive concerns for Julian Nagelsmann, as Nico Schlotterbeck, who made his return to the starting lineup on Friday, was withdrawn at half time with fitness worries. Waldemar Anton and Robin Koch are both on standby should he fail to recover in time.
