Brazil 5 - 2 Indonesia

Nova Arianto Urges Indonesia U-17 to Stay Fearless Ahead of Brazil Clash

Indonesia U-17 head coach Nova Arianto has called on his players to show courage and composure as they prepare to face football powerhouse Brazil in their second Group H match of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar on Friday, November 7.

Brazil, four-time U-17 world champions and the most successful nation in senior World Cup history with five titles, enter the fixture as one of the tournament favourites.
“I can say that Brazil are among the strongest contenders for the title this year. But I ask the players not to be afraid,” Nova told the official PSSI website on Thursday, November 6.
“What matters most is their mental strength. At the very least, we can match them — and who knows, maybe even beat them.”

Following a 1–3 defeat to Zambia in their opening match on Tuesday, Indonesia have shifted their full attention to tactical refinement ahead of the Brazil encounter.
“On Wednesday, we focused on recovery after the match against Zambia,” explained Nova, a former Indonesia international defender. “We also worked on several game plans ahead of the Brazil match, and today (November 6), we continued with tactical sessions.”

Nova confirmed that the squad is in good condition, though Fabio Azkairawan remains a minor concern after suffering a collision in the first half against Zambia. The Persija Jakarta youngster was replaced by Muhamad Al Gazani in the second half.
“Fabio is recovering well,” Nova said. “Hopefully, he’ll be ready to play against Brazil.”

Indonesia currently sit third in Group H without points after the opening loss, but Nova remains optimistic about their chances of progressing.
“Besides the group winners and runners-up, the eight best third-placed teams will also advance to the knockout stage,” he noted, expressing belief that the Young Garuda still have everything to play for.
