Tottenham Hotspur continue to grapple with the worst injury crisis in the Premier League, as manager Thomas Frank faces a double-figure absentee list ahead of Saturday’s London derby.
The Lilywhites will definitely be without Yves Bissouma (ankle), Kota Takai (ankle), Dominic Solanke (ankle), Radu Drăgușin (knee), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (knee), Archie Gray (calf), and Ben Davies (thigh).
There is, however, some relief on the fitness front. Cristian Romero (adductor), Destiny Udogie (knee), and Wilson Odobert (abdominal) have all been declared fit to feature, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has recovered from the minor issue that ruled him out of the Newcastle defeat.
In brighter news, a refreshed Micky van de Ven is set to reclaim his spot in defence, bolstering Tottenham’s backline. Further up the pitch, Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, and Randal Kolo Muani are all in contention to start in attack.
Over at Chelsea, manager Enzo Maresca has fresh selection problems of his own. The Blues’ forward line has been hit by a disciplinary setback, with Liam Delap suspended following his two yellow cards in Wednesday’s win over Wolves — an incident Maresca described as “very stupid.”
Delap joins Cole Palmer (groin), Dario Essugo (thigh), Benoît Badiashile (muscle), Levi Colwill (knee), and Mykhaylo Mudryk (doping suspension) on the sidelines, leaving Chelsea short of attacking depth.
Maresca deployed both João Pedro and Marc Guiu in central roles against Sunderland, but Andrey Santos is expected to have played his way into the XI this weekend. Meanwhile, Jamie Gittens, who impressed with a goal and two assists in midweek, may make way for a rested Alejandro Garnacho on the flank.
