Indonesia Suffer Ole Romeny Blow Ahead of Saudi Arabia Clash
Indonesia have been dealt a significant setback ahead of their AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Saudi Arabia, with Ole Romeny ruled out due to a foot injury. The forward, who plies his trade with Oxford United, has been in fine form for his country, scoring three goals in four international appearances.
Romeny’s absence leaves a void in the attacking third, and Ramadhan Sananta is expected to step in to lead the line. Meanwhile, Egy Maulana Vikri, who has netted nine goals for the national team, is also likely to feature from the start as Indonesia aim to maintain their offensive rhythm.
The Garuda squad will still boast key names such as captain Jay Idzes, who plays for Sassuolo in Italy, and Calvin Verdonk, currently representing Lille in France. Both will play crucial roles in balancing defense and transition against a strong Saudi outfit.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia are set to field a potent attacking lineup. Salem Al-Dawsari, one of Asia’s most consistent performers with 25 international goals, will headline their forward line. He’ll be supported by Firas Al-Buraikan and Saleh Al-Shehri, making the Green Falcons a serious threat in the final third.
At the back, Hassan Al-Tambakti is expected to marshal the defense, while Al-Nassr’s Nawaf Al-Aqidi, the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, will start between the posts.
Both teams will be eyeing a crucial victory as the battle for a spot in the AFC Asian Cup intensifies.
