Real Madrid will once again be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy and Antonio Rüdiger for Saturday’s clash, but Eder Militão is expected to shake off an ankle problem in time to feature.
With defensive concerns mounting, Xabi Alonso is tipped to alter his setup, potentially switching to a back three with Aurélien Tchouaméni slotting into central defence. Further up the pitch, Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga are both set to return to the XI, while Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior may form a front two in a 3-4-1-2 system. Federico Valverde is also in line for a start despite ongoing speculation over his future.
Villarreal remain without Logan Costa, Willy Kambwala, Juan Foyth and Pau Cabanes, while key attackers Ayoze Pérez and Gerard Moreno are both major doubts. In their absence, Georges Mikautadze is expected to lead the line, with Nicolas Pépé likely to partner him if Pérez is not passed fit.
