Brazil Set to Face South Korea in Seoul on October 10

Brazil, who have already secured their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite a few inconsistent results during qualifying, will continue their preparations with a friendly clash against South Korea in Seoul on October 10. Four days later, the Seleção will travel to Tokyo for another test against Japan.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti has recalled Rodrygo to the national team, praising the forward’s sharp performances for Real Madrid despite limited minutes this season.

“Rodrygo is back because even if he doesn’t play much, he’s been very good every time he has come on,” said Ancelotti.

Vinícius Júnior, who was rested for Brazil’s previous qualifier against Bolivia in September, also returns to the squad as the five-time world champions gear up for a busy international window.

The Brazilian contingent has already assembled at the team’s training base, with excitement building ahead of Friday’s fixture at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Vinícius Júnior Returns to Brazil Squad for October Friendlies

Vinícius Júnior has been recalled to Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the Seleção’s upcoming international friendlies against South Korea and Japan.

Brazil will first travel to Seoul to face South Korea on Friday, October 10, before heading to Chofu to take on Japan three days later as part of their preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Vinícius was rested for Brazil’s most recent qualifiers — a 1-0 win over Bolivia and a 3-0 victory against Chile in September — with Ancelotti’s side having already booked their spot at next year’s tournament.

However, the Real Madrid forward returns to the 26-man squad for the October international break, while Neymar remains sidelined as he continues to recover from a thigh injury.

There’s also a new face in the group, with Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza earning his first senior call-up. Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus and Wolves midfield duo André and João Gomes are also included after strong club performances.

Meanwhile, Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), and Raphinha (Barcelona) miss out due to injuries.
